Proximus Global has been named a Leader in Gartner's 2026 Magic Quadrant for Communications Platform as a Service, up from the Visionaries quadrant a year earlier.

The recognition follows the rebranding of BICS, Telesign and Route Mobile under the Proximus Global name. The integration draws on more than 20 years of CPaaS experience across the combined businesses.

Communications Platform as a Service, or CPaaS, lets companies add messaging, voice and other communications functions to their services through software tools and application interfaces. The market has become a focus for telecoms and digital communications providers as businesses look to manage customer contact across channels and borders.

Over the past year, Proximus Global has focused on combining separate CPaaS products into a single offering. That effort appears to have helped lift its standing in the market assessment, which weighs execution and market vision.

The group has sought to position itself as a global provider with local market knowledge. It says that approach helps multinational clients navigate regulation, customer communication preferences, data residency rules and support needs in different countries.

Scale is central to that pitch. According to Proximus Global, its broader communications and digital identity operations reach more than 5 billion subscribers, secure more than 180 billion transactions each year and connect more than 1,000 destinations.

Integrated business

The latest ranking also reflects a broader reshaping of the business around a single brand. BICS has long been known for international voice, messaging and data links, while Telesign has focused on digital identity and verification, and Route Mobile has built its business in cloud communications and messaging.

Bringing those units together gives Proximus Global exposure to multiple parts of the communications market, from network services and enterprise messaging to verification and fraud controls. It argues that combining connectivity, customer engagement tools and security services strengthens its position in CPaaS.

The company also pointed to its presence in both mature and emerging markets. That footprint allows it to pair broad international coverage with regional knowledge when designing services for customers operating across several jurisdictions.

Market focus

Proximus Global identified three factors behind its position in the CPaaS market: network and data assets, local expertise, and investment in newer mobile and digital technologies. Those include 5G, IoT, eSIM, network APIs and AI-based fraud prevention tools.

Fraud prevention is becoming increasingly important in enterprise communications, particularly in authentication, messaging and digital onboarding. Providers across the sector have tried to differentiate themselves by linking communications channels with identity and trust tools as concerns about spam, account takeover and artificial traffic continue to grow.

For multinational companies, that means vendor selection often extends beyond message delivery and pricing. Businesses are also weighing compliance support, country coverage, local routing knowledge and the ability to manage communications data across multiple regions.

Against that backdrop, Gartner's CPaaS rankings are closely watched by suppliers and buyers. A move into the leaders group can raise visibility with enterprise technology buyers, especially for companies seeking to expand internationally or win larger global contracts.

Seckin Arikan, Chief Executive Officer of Proximus Global, commented on the result.

"Being recognized as a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for CPaaS marks an important milestone for Proximus Global and reflects the strength of what we've built. Through continuous innovation and the combined power of our capabilities, we've created a future-ready platform that enables multinational enterprises to connect, engage, and grow," said Seckin Arikan, Chief Executive Officer of Proximus Global.

Proximus Global's rise from the Visionaries quadrant to the Leaders quadrant within a year is likely to draw attention to how quickly it has consolidated the former BICS, Telesign and Route Mobile operations. It also highlights the pressure on communications providers to offer a broader mix of messaging, identity, compliance and network services under one roof.

The company says its model is designed to support enterprises that need global communications reach while still meeting local rules and customer expectations in each market.
