Infobip has ranked 16th in Fortune's Europe's Most Innovative Companies 2026 list, placing the Croatian technology company in the top 25.

The result marks a sharp rise from last year, when Infobip entered Fortune's inaugural European list at number 68. Fortune compiles the ranking with research firm Statista, assessing businesses on innovation culture, product development and process improvements.

The ranking adds to a growing list of external endorsements as Infobip expands further into artificial intelligence-led communications software. The company describes itself as an AI-first cloud communications platform and has increased its focus on products tied to automated customer interactions.

A key launch in that effort has been Infobip AgentOS, described by the company as an AI-native managed product designed to orchestrate autonomous customer journeys. Infobip has linked its higher placing in the Fortune list to that broader AI strategy.

European Project

Beyond its commercial products, Infobip is also involved in a major European industrial research programme. It is taking part in the Important Project of Common European Interest for Next Generation Cloud Infrastructure and Services, known as IPCEI-CIS.

The initiative brings together 12 member states and more than 100 companies in one of the European Union's largest coordinated research efforts. It aims to support research and development for an interoperable data processing ecosystem for cloud and edge services across Europe.

Within the programme, Infobip is working on a cloud communications platform intended to combine AI-based services, secure data exchange and interoperable communications. The broader policy goal is to support European digital sovereignty and competitiveness.

Founded in 2006, the company is marking its 20th year. It is led by co-founders Silvio Kutić, Chief Executive Officer, and Izabel Jelenić, Chief Technology Officer.

Kutić said the ranking reflected years of investment in the company's underlying systems and customer-facing technology.

"As we mark our 20th year, we are very proud to be on Fortune's list of Most Innovative Companies in Europe. We have spent years building the infrastructure that enterprises trust, with innovative technology that works for our customers. This recognition tells us we are on the right track," said Silvio Kutić, Chief Executive Officer, Infobip.

Recognition Trend

The latest Fortune result comes amid a run of industry rankings for the company across communications software and messaging. Recent mentions have included market reports from Gartner, Juniper Research, Frost & Sullivan, Omdia, IDC and Metrigy.

Those rankings reflect Infobip's standing in communications platform as a service, business messaging, conversational AI and fraud prevention. The company operates in a crowded market where providers are trying to combine customer communications, identity tools, contact centre software and AI systems on one platform.

Infobip says its network can reach more than seven billion mobile devices across six continents through more than 10,000 connections, including more than 800 direct operator connections. That scale has helped it build a position in the global communications software market from its base in Croatia.

Fortune's European innovation list covers businesses across a range of sectors, not only technology. It spans manufacturing, energy, healthcare, consumer markets and services, as well as software and digital infrastructure.

Grethe Schepers, Lists Director, Europe, at Fortune, pointed to that cross-sector mix in describing the companies included in the ranking.

"Europe's most exciting companies are solving problems that matter. These companies are turning fresh ideas into real growth across industry and services, from manufacturing and energy to healthcare, technology, and consumer markets," said Grethe Schepers, Lists Director, Europe, Fortune.
