PPDS launches thinnest Philips digital signage range
Mon, 22nd Jun 2026 (Today)
PPDS has launched the Philips Signage 7000 Series UltraSlim display, its thinnest and lightest 4K UHD digital signage range to date.
The new series expands the company's digital signage portfolio and is designed for round-the-clock commercial use. It is available in 43in, 50in, 55in and 65in sizes, with support for both landscape and portrait installation.
According to product details, the 65in model is 30mm deep, while the other sizes measure 28.5mm. That makes the displays 60% slimmer than the Philips Signage 4050Q, the closest comparable model in the existing range.
Weight has also been reduced. The 43in, 50in and 55in models are 10% lighter than equivalent 4050Q versions, while the 65in display is 20% lighter than its nearest comparison in that line.
Each model includes 500 nits brightness and an 11.5mm even-bezel design. PPDS is targeting sectors including retail, corporate settings, public venues, hospitality, and food and beverage.
Design shift
The launch marks a new direction in display design, with a stronger emphasis on slimmer hardware for installations where space, appearance and mounting flexibility matter. The displays are intended for settings ranging from in-store retail screens to menu boards and meeting room presentations.
Internally, the range runs on Android 16 system-on-chip architecture and includes a TOPS 3.0 neural processing unit for AI applications. Users can install Android apps and software directly on the display.
The series is also compatible with Philips Wave, PPDS' remote display management platform. It allows users to set up displays, monitor status, update firmware, manage playlists and set power schedules remotely.
Wave can also identify faults in real time and flag potential issues before they occur. Users of the platform can access Philips ProStore for selected partner software and applications across healthcare, corporate, retail, education and hospitality.
For business continuity, the displays include FailOver technology, which is designed to switch automatically to backup content if the primary media player stops working.
Meeting rooms
Beyond signage, PPDS is positioning the range for presentation environments including meeting rooms, boardrooms and classrooms. The displays include the Philips SmartBrowser app, which uses HTML5 so managers can assign URLs as a media source.
Wireless screen sharing is available through the optional Philips ScreenShare. Connection options include HDMI, USB-C, RS232, LAN, USB, WiFi and Bluetooth.
These inputs are intended to support a wide range of installations and allow customers to keep using existing cables and equipment. Availability is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.
PPDS said development of the range drew on feedback from partners and customers, including users with experience of rival products. It described that input as central to the slimmer chassis and lighter build.
"The Philips Signage 7000 Series delivers brilliance and beauty for almost any environment, enhancing and opening new opportunities for an even wider audience. Essentially, it brings all the features you expect from our premium Philips Professional Displays, together with an all-new, ultra-slim design," said Bart Wouters, International Product Manager, PPDS.
Andrea Barbuti, Global Product Management Lead EMEA, PPDS, said the company had chosen not to rush a slimline product to market.
"The new Philips Signage 7000 Series marks a new chapter in our signage display design, delivering visually spectacular performance and presentation across an unparalleled range of use cases. With the all-new slimline design, together with reduced weight, the installation opportunities are limitless," said Barbuti.
"We are not the first manufacturer to launch a slimline digital signage offering, but as a company that prides itself on delivering reliable, versatile and innovative solutions to market, we wanted to deliver better rather than try to win any races in bringing it to market," Barbuti added.
"We have bided our time and communicated carefully with customers to ensure we have shaped the Philips Signage 7000 Series around true market needs. We are thrilled with the results and, more importantly, so are our partners and customers, whose insight has played an integral role in its design and development," Wouters said.
