ROCTEL becomes Ekahau reseller to boost Wi-Fi offer

ROCTEL has become an Authorised Ekahau Reseller, adding Ekahau wireless networking products to the Irish managed services provider's portfolio.

It will supply Ekahau hardware, software and related tools to organisations in Ireland and overseas. The arrangement complements ROCTEL's existing Wi-Fi survey and optimisation services.

Ekahau develops products for wireless network planning, measurement and troubleshooting. Networking teams typically use them to design Wi-Fi environments, test coverage, identify interference and validate deployments.

For ROCTEL, the reseller status broadens a networking business that already spans connectivity, managed services, collaboration and cybersecurity. It also gives customers a way to buy wireless design and assessment technology directly from the provider, rather than relying solely on outsourced survey work.

The addition is aimed at organisations that want to build or expand in-house wireless network design, validation and troubleshooting capabilities. That includes businesses seeking to assess existing Wi-Fi performance, prepare new sites or review upgrades to current infrastructure.

Wireless demand

The announcement comes as businesses rely more heavily on wireless networks for day-to-day operations. Wider use of cloud services, connected devices, collaboration software and AI-based applications has increased pressure on internal IT teams to maintain stable, well-planned networks.

In many organisations, Wi-Fi has shifted from a supporting layer to a core part of business continuity. Poor coverage, interference or limited capacity can affect staff productivity, customer-facing services and access to cloud systems.

Tools from suppliers such as Ekahau are used to map and test wireless environments before and after deployments. This can include checking whether access points are positioned correctly, identifying dead zones and measuring whether a network meets technical requirements.

ROCTEL will combine product supply with professional site surveys and network assessments, allowing customers either to outsource specialist wireless analysis or to buy the tools their internal teams need to carry out that work themselves.

As businesses modernise infrastructure and support hybrid working, providers have expanded advisory and operational services around connectivity rather than focusing only on commodity access.

Wireless assessments have become a more visible part of that work, especially in sectors with large premises, multiple sites or high device density. Hospitals, schools, retailers, warehouses and offices often need structured planning and testing to avoid disruption when expanding or redesigning networks.

Ekahau's products are widely used by network engineers for these tasks, particularly where organisations need detailed floor plan-based analysis of signal coverage and performance. By adding the vendor as a resale partner, ROCTEL is positioning itself to serve both customers that want a managed service and those that want direct access to specialist Wi-Fi tools.
