Zoom Media & airtango expand fitness screens in DACH

Zoom Media has partnered with airtango to expand into the DACH region, giving advertisers access to more than 5,000 digital out-of-home screens across fitness venues in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The deal allows both companies to cross-sell media inventory across their networks. Zoom's expanded Amped offering now reaches around 1,500 locations across the three markets.

The move extends the UK media group's reach in European fitness environments used by chains including Fitness First, McFit, John Reed, CleverFit, Easy Fitness Club, WellYou Fitness and XtraFit. It also gives agencies and brands a way to run coordinated campaigns across the UK and the DACH region through programmatic and traditional digital out-of-home buying.

Network growth

Zoom focuses on fitness and lifestyle media, with operations in the UK and North America. Its Amped screen network is live in more than 1,000 UK sites and 8,000 North American sites.

airtango operates in the fitness media market across Germany, Austria and Switzerland through its GYM TV platform. Its network spans more than 1,500 locations, combining digital screen advertising with regional, national and programmatic sales.

Cross-border reach

The partnership connects two specialist media networks centred on gyms and fitness clubs, where advertisers can reach consumers during longer dwell times. For media buyers, it offers a single route to audiences across multiple European markets in a venue category attracting growing interest from brands focused on health, lifestyle and consumer spending.

Commercial link

The agreement also creates a commercial link for gym operators hosting the screen inventory. By widening the pool of advertisers able to buy campaigns across the network, the companies aim to increase demand for media space in fitness venues.

airtango was founded in 2021 as the umbrella marketing unit of airtango AG and is headquartered in Crailsheim. Its media sales operations are led by Managing Directors Matthias Pradl and Florian Lormes from Holzkirchen near Munich.

Revenue opportunities

Pradl said the tie-up would give advertisers broader market access while creating additional revenue opportunities for venue partners.
